Karl Burke won this race 12 months ago with Ali Shuffle and could strike again with Final Appeal this time around.
The son of Inns Of Court won well when last seen, improving on a narrow defeat at Nottingham. He got off the mark at Wolverhampton, beating Noble Raider by three-and-a-quarter-lengths impressively.
The runner-up finished third in a valuable Newmarket novice event on 1,000 Guineas day, providing a boost to the formline, and there should be plenty of further improvement to come from Final Appeal in only his third career start.

Four-year-old gelding Supido finished a good fifth over course-and-distance at this meeting last year, outrunning odds of 33/134.00 when beaten only a length-and-a-quarter by El Burhan. He didn't enjoy the most favourable trip on that occasion, forced wide around the home turn from the rear of the field, therefore the performance was one worth upgrading and he's 8lb lower this year.
From a workable mark of 90, the Ian Williams-trained contender is one to note at the weights, particularly considering he has run well at the track in the past. He lacked consistency during the second half of last season but put in a number of good runs from a high mark, including when fifth to Arabian Story in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Under Billy Loughnane, Supido is one to note and should be capable of putting in a bold bid in the hands of a Classic-winning jockey.

At a price, Jessica Harrington-trained Mr Vettori may be overlooked in this field despite having plenty to find with favourite Benvenuto Cellini on ratings. He was only a length-and-a-half behind Hawk Mountain in a Curragh maiden last summer, emerging with credit when 50/151.00 for that contest, before getting off the mark at Gowran Park.
When last seen at Cork, the son of Lope De Vega was just denied by Limestone, who had previously finished third to Benvenuto Cellini in his maiden win at Killarney, before finishing ahead of Christmas Day when second to Endorsement at Tipperary.
There's some substance to the form and, although a significant step forward is required on his reappearance, Mr Vettori could have more to give and has already shaped with potential. He's related to the top-class Warm Heart, a three-time winner at the highest level, and is yet to be fully exposed in only his fifth start.

Starman colt Star Material put in a couple of noteworthy efforts during his debut campaign last term and also lined up in the hotly-contested Group Two Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot won by Charles Darwin. He chased home now 99-rated Argentine Tango in his second start at Pontefract, before shedding his maiden tag at Ripon.
Later in the term, the Adrian Keatley-trained contender finished second to Ardisia in an Ayr handicap, when in receipt of 1lb from the now 106-rated subsequent Listed winner in front.
Although Star Material was unable to build on that promising effort in his final start as a juvenile, and wasn't seen to best effect on reappearance at Thirsk, it could be worth keeping the faith in him from a workable mark of 84.
He now has the benefit of race fitness on his side following a recent run and is equipped with a first-time visor, which could spark enough improvement to allow him to be competitive under Mikey Sheehy.

Over his optimum trip of 7f, Spangled Mac is one to note for the 2,000 Guineas-winning combination of George Boughey and Billy Loughnane in the Chester finale on Wednesday. The seven-year-old is 7lb lower than his last win in a domestic handicap and was once again seen to good effect in Bahrain over the winter, placing twice following on from a placed effort at Southwell last November.
A likeable performer on his day, he has plenty of valuable experience in his favour, is effective over the distance, and is on a workable mark from which he can make his presence felt if able to enjoy a favourable trip.

Silky Wilkie has the widest draw of all to contend with in this sprint, but wide draws have a good recent record in the race and the Karl Burke-trained contender cannot be discounted.
The seven-year-old, who has been a top-class performer in the past, has been running consistently well in recent months, recording form figures of 3141433 this year. He's only 2lb higher than his last winning mark and should be able to put in a bold bid if things pan out well for him in this contest under Clifford Lee.
