Bath, 15:30 - Back Strike @ 10/34.33

Experienced eight-year-old Strike put in a competitive effort over course-and-distance in his opening run of the season when second to Justcallmepete, and could go one place better on his return to this venue down in class from a 2lb lower mark.

The Jonathan Portman-trained grey is winless since a success at Windsor during the summer of 2024, but has put in a number of good performances since, narrowly denied on a couple of occasions including when rated 7lb higher. He's currently on a workable rating and should make his presence felt at this level, on the back of a placed effort at Salisbury, in the hands of Rob Hornby.

Dundalk, 17:07 - Back Imperial Fighter E/W @ 10/111.00

Seven-year-old gelding Imperial Fighter has often threatened at this all-weather track since joining the Patrick McKenna yard from Jamie Osborne's, but has struggled to finish in front and may find better luck in this sphere. He finished fourth when previously seen in a claimer, but could improve on that outing on this occasion if able to put his latest runs behind him.

Excuses can be made for most of his previous efforts so far this year, but he will need to break better to be in with a chance under Luke McAteer.

If able to get off to a promising start, this could be a feasible opportunity for the gelding who was once rated as high as 110 with multiple placed efforts at Group level including a third in the 2022 Irish 2,000 Guineas. He isn't quite at that level anymore but he has proven over the past year that he still retains ability on his day and he may be worth keeping onside.

Ballinrobe, 19:00 - Back Beauforts Storm E/W @ 33/134.00

A return to hurdling should suit Beauforts Storm, who is an interesting each-way contender for Timothy Doyle in this two mile hurdling contest from a mark of 119.

With 7lb claiming David Doyle in the plate, the seven-year-old mare makes appeal at the weights if she's able to put her recent efforts over fences behind her. She has failed to make an impression in three chase starts but was in good form over timber previously, narrowly denied at Listed level by now 137-rated hurdler Cottesloe Sunshine when finishing ahead of now 134-rated Dream On Baby at Thurles.

The daughter of Gale Force Ten also placed at Grade Three level in a novice hurdle won by Aurora Vega, outrunning odds of 25/126.00 to achieve further black-type on that occasion.

At her best, her current mark is lenient, and if she can instantly return to form back over more familiar obstacles, Beauforts Storm shouldn't be discounted and could be capable of making the frame at the least.

Ballinrobe, 19:30 - Back Desert Haven E/W @ 5/16.00

Bidding to shed his maiden tag over obstacles, six-year-old gelding Desert Haven is one to note from a rating of 101 in this two-mile handicap hurdling contest. He finished a decent fourth in a competitive 14-runner handicap at Kilbeggan when last seen in April, and is 1lb lower than when narrowly denied at Down Royal over obstacles last term.

Although he's put in a couple of disappointing efforts since last summer's narrow defeat, the son of Oasis Dream has been performing consistently well so far this year, making the frame despite not seriously threatening for the major honours.

The Noel Meade-trained contender holds each-way claims in current form, and could be able to put in a competitive effort under Donagh Meyler.

Lingfield, 19:54 - Back Thunderous Love E/W @ 6/17.00

Jonathan Portman-trained mare Thunderous Love is dropping in class for the penultimate race on the card, which could allow her to fare better than when last seen at Ascot. She did improve for her reappearance effort at Leicester following a 201-day break in her latest start, and had some excuses in the closing stages when hampered but ran well for a long way.

The daughter of Lightning Spear is now back on her last winning mark of 70, when successful at Salisbury last summer, and, if able to prove she gets this extra furlong, she should be in the mix under Hector Crouch. One to note from a workable rating, Thunderous Love is capable of landing a seventh career success in this contest and warrants consideration in her third start of this current campaign.

Bet of the day: Lingfield, 20:24 - Back Lohoobb @ 2/13.00

Top weight Lohoobb is an interesting contender for Owen Burrows in the 7f Lingfield finale. The son of Too Darn Hot is dropping in class from his Newmarket reappearance on handicap debut, when he was a beaten favourite at odds of 3/14.00

Entitled to take a step forward for his first run of the season, there could be further improvement to come from the colt, who remains unexposed from a rating of 75 in handicap company.

Although he was unable to make a serious impression in novice company last term, Lohoobb did finish a good second over 6f at this venue to now 95-rated Shaatir, a 210,000gns purchase who subsequently performed well in Listed company. He finished ahead of Beckford's Folly that day, a subsequent Group Three winner who went on to achieve a rating of 110.

With some substance to his form and the scope for any amount of improvement, Lohoobb could be on a lenient mark at this level and may be worth keeping the faith in under David Probert.
