Maiden makes appeal in Newcastle handicap
One to note each-way at odds of 8/19.00, Ruth Carr-trained Swiss Ace could land a fifth career success in his 50th start and has winning course-and-distance experience in his favour. Three of his four wins to date have been on an all-weather surface and he has plenty of experience in his favour coming into this 7f contest.
Now 15lb below his last win, Swiss Ace is well-treated at the weights as he drops in class following a length-and-a-quarter defeat here last month. He's 1lb lower for that 16/117.00 effort when he bounced back to some form following a disappointing outing in his previous start when a 7/24.50 chance.
Holding solid claims at his best, the son of Kingman should be able to make his presence felt at this level from a workable mark, and shouldn't be discounted in the hands of James Sullivan.

Three-year-old gelding Pit Boss is still searching for his first career win having made 15 appearances to date, but could make it 16th time lucky for Liam Bailey in this 6f sprint. He has been running well over course-and-distance in recent starts, bar his latest effort, and has shown enough ability to suggest a maiden success is within his reach.
This could be the day for the son of Ardad, who went close when narrowly denied by Eden Storm at the venue last month. He's 1lb lower here and can put in a bold bid once again. Pit Boss has finished among the first three in three of his latest runs, knocking on the door.
It could prove worth keeping the faith in Pit Boss, and the grey is one to note at odds of 11/26.50.

Another contender to consider in this handicap is three-year-old filly Bella Love. She is also searching for her first win at the 17th time of asking but appears on a decent mark from a rating of 55 with 3lb claimer Jordan Nason in the plate.
The daughter of Kodiac shaped with some promise in maiden and novice company last term, recording form figures of 2322763 during her debut campaign for former trainer Craig Lidster.
In a number of her placed efforts, Bella Love was only narrowly denied including when half-a-length behind now 81-rated Lord Roxby, and when just denied by Alpha Magic and American Style, now rated 83 and 85 respectively in a Thirsk event.
She also finished a length-and-a-half behind 220,000gns Book 1 purchase Mademoiselle, now rated 88, when sent off at odds of 5/23.50 at Thirsk.
Although things are yet to work out for Bella Love in handicap company, she has proven she can pose a threat on occasion, finishing a head behind Believe In Lies at Carlisle during the summer having been beaten only a length-and-three-quarters at Catterick previously when a 25/126.00 chance. She has had wind surgery recently, which could help, and she is far from a forlorn hope.
Making each-way appeal at odds of 18/119.00, Bella Love can make the frame on a going day and could prove worth keeping the faith in.
