Experienced performer The Little Yank landed the eighth win of his career with victory at Clonmel earlier this month, in which he defied odds of 14/115.00 under 7lb claiming John Aherne, who remains in the saddle.
The 11-year-old son of Westerner was making his 101st career start, his 60th over hurdles, and shaped well from a more prominent position over the two-and-a-half-mile trip.
Whilst the John Patrick Ryan-trained contender can be effective over both hurdles and fences, he appears better suited by the smaller obstacles and this intermediate trip in testing conditions should suit as he is able to use his stamina to good effect late on.
Now 5lb higher than his latest success, The Little Yank remains on a workable mark from a rating of 98. He has won from a similar mark in the past and could be worth keeping onside despite the rise in the weights.

Dan Skelton has saddled one winner, a second, and a third from five runners at Newcastle this season, having performed well at the track last term, too. The leading trainer is represented by Theformismighty in the penultimate contest on the card, and the nine-year-old could be able to return to some form following a poor run of form.
As a result of a few disappointing efforts, the son of Black Sam Bellamy has dropped to a mark of 115 having been as high as 129. He's 3lb below his last winning mark, and 12lb lower than when narrowly denied by New Order, currently rated 11lb higher on 125, in a Wetherby contest last year.
Theformismighty needs to improve plenty of his latest efforts, but is still lightly raced making only his 11th chasing start, and could be capable of a resurgence in form. Cheekpieces are back on having been removed at Bangor-on-Dee when last seen, and he's back up in trip as he bids to land a third career success.
A leap of faith is required, but it's too early to give up on Theformismighty who has been able to compete against tough opponents, including when third to now 150-rated Masaccio at Ayr last spring.

Handicap debutante Rubi Tuesday is an interesting contender in the penultimate race at Limerick. She is representing local trainer Eoin Christopher McCarthy, who has a decent record at the track this season, and could be able to improve on her previous efforts, given an opening mark of 92.
The daughter of Soldier Of Fortune is a sister to Redstone, who beat now 144-rated King Of Kingsfield on hurdling debut, and is a half-sister to Grade Three winner Kilbarry Chloe, as well as winners Kilbarry Calling and Kilbarry Cushty. She's out of Kilbarry Gem, a half-sister to multiple Grade Two winner Racing Demon, who placed at Grade One level behind Kauto Star.
With class in the family, there could be plenty of improvement to come from Rubi Tuesday, who makes only her fifth start in this race. She finished a decent seventh to subsequent Listed winner Celestial Tune on bumper debut at Listowel, with recent Thurles winner Lennon Grove only a few lengths ahead in fifth.
Shellrunforbriggs, a convincing eight-length winner of a maiden hurdle since, was back in eighth and is now rated 102, whilst Are You Around, a close second to now 109-rated Insouciant Dallier in a Sligo maiden when last seen, in ninth.
Rubi Tuesday has failed to make a significant impression in three hurdling starts since, but has shown glimpses of ability, including in a Cork maiden won by top class Flat performer The Reverend at the turn of the year.
An intriguing runner in this race, Rubi Tuesday is one to note each-way and could be able to improve plenty on her previous starts to date.
