Thurles, 13:40 - Back Feud E/W @ 25/126.00

Top-weight Feud hasn't been seen to best effect in recent outings, but may be worth keeping the faith in from a mark of 126 for Richard O'Brien.

The six-year-old, who makes only his ninth appearance over obstacles, is 4lb lower than when narrowly denied in a Wexford handicap last August. He has shown he is capable of competing from a higher mark previously, therefore could be able to bounce back to some form, despite not threatening in recent runs.

A winner on the Flat for former trainer Ralph Beckett, before changing hands for 46,000gns, Feud beat the likes of Mordor and Sysko comfortably at the Galway Festival in 2024, following on from a maiden success in his second start for his current yard.

There could be further improvement to come from the son of Dubawi and it may be too early to give up on him, particularly considering he's on a workable mark at his best.

Fakenham, 14:05 - Back Looking As You Are E/W @ 8/19.00

Seven-year-old mare Looking As You Are should be suited by this contest for Alex Hales, effective over this distance and capable of better than shown at Windsor when last seen.

She has been dropped 1lb for that effort, now only 2lb higher than her last winning mark at Ludlow last winter, with 5lb claiming Toby McCain-Mitchell in the plate.

Although she is yet to fire this term, Looking As You Are remains one to note over this distance, still on a workable mark from which she can be competitive. At odds of 8/19.00, she makes appeal in this two-and-a-half-mile race as she bids for a fourth success.

Thurles, 14:15 - Back Tareze @ 9/25.50

Despite having plenty to find on hurdles ratings with short-priced favourite Jade De Grugy, Henry de Bromhead-trained mare Tareze warrants respect in this 2m5f chase, capable of making her presence felt and running well enough to at least make the frame under Darragh O'Keeffe.

The talented seven-year-old is capable of showing further improvement over fences in only her fourth chasing start, and shaped with promise behind her subsequent Grade Two winning stablemate July Flower on chasing debut at Limerick. July Flower finished third in Grade One company to Romeo Coolio when last seen, further enhancing that form.

Whilst further improvement is required from Tareze, particularly on the back of a disappointing effort at Fairyhouse, she remains an exciting prospect for the Knockeen team. She won a Listed contest over hurdles in convincing fashion last term, before finishing fourth in a Grade One, and has previous point winning form, too.

With the scope for further progression, Tareze shouldn't be discounted in this race and is one to note each-way.

Windsor, 14:25 - Back Spike Jones E/W @ 16/117.00

Samuel Drinkwater-trained Spike Jones began the season in great form with a gutsy second to the progressive Ikarak, now rated 10lb higher, at Lingfield, before finishing an excellent third, when beaten only half-a-length, at Cheltenham.

He was unfortunate to fall in the early stages of his subsequent outing at Prestbury Park on New Year's Day, and remains one to keep onside from a rating of 118 with 7lb claimer Benjamin Macey in the saddle.

Despite being a nine-year-old, it's plausible Spike Jones is still improving. Based on his latest efforts, he's on an upward trajectory and, from only 4lb higher than his previous success, he can make his presence felt in this competitive handicap.

A likeable contender, Spike Jones is one to note at odds of 16/117.00, making each-way appeal as he bids to resume his good run of form.

Windsor, 14:25 - Back Botox Has E/W @ 11/112.00

Botox Has hasn't won since landing a Haydock Grade Two almost two years ago, beating Butch convincingly by nine-lengths, having previously landed a Wetherby Grade Two. His last handicap win came from his current rating of 144 on Betfair Chase Day in a valuable hurdle contest in 2022, and, with 10lb claiming Jude Fernandes aboard, he could be capable of a resurgence, making appeal at the weights.

Things haven't quite fallen right for the Gary and Josh Moore-trained contender in recent runs, but he was only beaten four-and-a-half-lengths in the Cleeve Hurdle twelve months ago, and has plenty of class on a going day as proven in the past.

Botox Has is dangerous to discount from a workable mark considering the level of ability he possesses at his best, and, far from a forlorn hope, he is one to note each-way in this competitive three-mile contest.

Windsor, 15:00 - Back Handstands @ 7/24.50

Making his second appearance following wind surgery, talented performer Handstands makes the most appeal in this field for Ben Pauling and Ben Jones.

The seven-year-old is capable of showing further improvement in only his eighth start over fences, having already proven his Grade One credentials against a subsequent Arkle winner who went close in a King George, Jango Baie.

His return to action at Carlisle was promising, finishing second to Resplendent Grey when likely to improve for the run, and he travelled well for a long way before fading in the Betfair Chase.

Dropping in grade here, Handstands holds leading claims and should pose a considerable threat to favourite Protektorat, who, at the age of 11, must be respected but may not be quite the force of old.

Handstands is still on an upward trajectory and this drop in trip should suit. He remains an exciting prospect who could have plenty of further progression to come, and gets the nod in renewal of the Fleur de Lys Chase.

Thurles, 15:20 - Back Appreciate It @ SP

Defending champion Appreciate It should prove difficult to beat under Paul Townend in this extended two-and-a-half-mile contest. This intermediate distance has always appeared to suit him well, and he has proven course-and-distance winning form in this race as he bids to retain his title.

The Willie Mullins-trained gelding has shown to possess plenty of talent throughout his career from his younger days when finishing third to Envoi Allen in a point-to-point, before finishing second in the Cheltenham Festival's Champion Bumper and landing three Grade One contests as a novice hurdler including a 24-length win in the Supreme.

A three-time winner over fences, Appreciate It could add a fourth chasing success to his record in this race and makes the most appeal, holding leading claims.

Windsor, 15:35 - Back Gingerbred E/W @ 50/151.00

Outsider of the field Gingerbred shouldn't be completely discounted in this competitive staying handicap chase, despite being a 50/151.00 chance for Carroll Gray. The eight-year-old must find further improvement upped in class, but has run consistently well in his latest two outings, finishing second twice over both hurdles and fences, and is on the same mark as when landing his sole win to date over larger obstacles as a novice.

Although he has spent long periods off track since then, he remains lightly raced over fences, but had shaped with great potential including when third to Hymac over a similar trip at Cheltenham in this class when rated 106. He found only the now 128-rated winner, and now 127-rated runner-up Midnight Our Fred too good that day when in receipt of 14lb and 13lb respectively from the front two.

At a huge price, Gingerbred could be worth considering each-way and may be able to outrun his odds with a favourable trip.
