Bet of the day: Hamilton Park, 16:00 - Back Good Morning Alex E/W @ 14/115.00

Course-and-distance winner Good Morning Alex is one to note at a price under Connor Beasley for the training partnership of David and Nicola Barron. He put in an improved effort at Musselburgh when fifth of 10 runners behind Sunriseontheboyne recently, improving on his recent run of form and proving he still retains ability.

Currently 9lb below his last winning mark and 11lb lower than when narrowly denied by On The River in a 16-runner handicap at Carlisle last year, the experienced five-year-old makes appeal at the weights and could be capable of a resurgence, holding each-way claims.

Listowel, 16:48 - Back The Banger Doyle E/W @ 16/117.00

Likeable gelding The Banger Doyle could put in a bold bid under Danny Mullins in this competitive extended 2m1f contest. He has plenty of valuable experience in his favour and has been kept busy enough during the summer months, putting in a few competitive efforts both on the level and over fences.

It's been a while since he recorded his latest win in a Cork handicap chase two years ago, when beating Calico by 12-lengths from a mark of 137, but he has made the frame on multiple occasions since and is well-treated at the weights at his best from a mark of 128.

The likeable performer could outrun his odds for John Queally and could be capable of making his presence felt in this field.

Notable winners from Katie in recent weeks

Listowel, 16:48 - Back Bythesametoken E/W @ 14/115.00

Defending champion Bythesametoken defied a 395-day absence to win this race at odds of 16/117.00 twelve months ago for Ross O'Sullivan. He has put in a few decent efforts since, seen four times subsequently, including when third in a competitive Haydock handicap at odds of 40/141.00 last winter, and returned from a break with a creditable fourth to Blood Destiny at 33/134.00 in a Galway handicap when last seen.

With proven form in the race and only 2lb higher rated this time around, the 12-year-old veteran could be worth keeping onside back at Listowel. He's bidding for a seventh career win under Danny Gilligan and could enjoy another successful trip to County Kerry.
