Doncaster, 13:47 - Back King Of Speed E/W @ 22/123.00

From a mark of 59 with 7lb claiming Jack Loughnane aboard for Mark Loughnane, King Of Speed makes appeal at the weights. He's back on his last winning mark when successful at Wolverhampton in December, and has run well in defeat since despite being unable to match that effort from a higher mark.

The seven-year-old gelding has been able to make the frame on multiple occasions over the past year from ratings in the 60s, therefore is capable of posing a threat from his current mark with weight taken off. He's an experienced performer and warrants consideration as he bids for a seventh career win in this mile contest.

Downpatrick 14:42 - Back Cozone E/W @ SP

Cozone must return to form following a disappointing run of appearances, but has dropped significantly in the weights as a result, now on a mark of 90 with 5lb claimer James Smith aboard.

The nine-year-old was able to finish second to future Listed winning Dublin Racing Festival performer Vischio from a rating of 109 earlier last season, and has run well in his only previous appearance at this track over this distance, in maiden company, therefore could find a resurgence for Matthew Smith.

Whilst more is needed, Cozone has shown glimpses of ability in recent terms and, from a lower rating, could be able to fare better than in his latest runs.

Downpatrick, 15:52 - Back Themanintheboots E/W @ 12/113.00

Gordon Ellitot-trained Themanintheboots makes appeal in this 2m6f contest under 5lb claiming James Smith. He's 6lb higher than his last success when equipped with first-time blinkers at Navan in November, but has won from an 8lb higher rating in the past therefore should be capable of being competitive if returning to form.

His latest run of form has left a lot to be desired, but he could be worth keeping onside for the Cullentra team. He's bidding for a fourth win and makes appeal at the weights for a yard with a 20 percent win-rate at the track this term.

Doncaster, 16:05 - Back Sunriseontheboyne E/W @ 100/1101.00

At huge odds, Sunriseontheboyne shouldn't be discounted each-way for Ben Haslam. He's a likeable performer on his day and is unexposed in Britain, capable of improving on a couple of below par all-weather efforts at Newcastle.

The four-year-old recorded six wins for Michael Mulvany in Ireland before switching yards, and is only 7lb higher than his latest success when winning by five-lengths at Listowel. He has been progressive in recent seasons, rising from an opening mark of 59, and should enjoy this challenge over a mile-and-a-quarter.

Whilst further improvement is required, Sunriseontheboyne has race fitness on his side on his return to the Turf in the hands of in-form jockey Andrew Mullen, who is performing at a 37-percent success-rate for the stable so far this year.

Downpatrick, 16:27 - Back Brandt E/W @ 22/123.00

In the extended 3m4f Ulster National, Cian Collins-trained Brandt makes each-way appeal in the hands of Jordan Gainford. He won the Dublin National last spring from a 5lb lower mark, beating Union Station by two-and-three-quarter-lengths, and could return to similar form back over a marathon distance for the first time this term.

In his two following runs last season, Brandt couldn't make an impression, pulled up in the Scottish Grand National and at the Punchestown Festival, but he was running from a mark of 124 at the foot of the weights at Ayr, and wasn't in the same form as at Leopardstown in his final run of the term.

Capable of better, Brandt may be worth keeping the faith in on his return to chasing following a recent outing over hurdles, still unexposed, lightly raced in only his 11th start over fences.

Doncaster, 17:15 - Back Glenfinnan E/W @ 16/117.00

Six-year-old gelding Glenfinnan has dropped to a mark of 84, now 9lb below his last success. He has run well since then, notably when second at Leopardstown at the Irish Champions Festival from a 2lb lower mark, putting in an excellent effort to make the frame on that occasion. Currently on a mark from which he can be competitive, the Michael Dods-trained contender warrants consideration under Connor Beasley.

The yard have struck with two of their previous three runners, at the time of writing, therefore are in good order currently which bodes well for Glenfinnan's claims on his return to action.

Although he hasn't always fired instantly on his seasonal reappearances, he has run well fresh in the past when beaten only two-lengths by Darkness at Newmarket earlier in his career, and shouldn't be discounted due to a lack of a recent run considering his lenient mark if returning to the best of his ability.

Ascot, 17:25 - Back Whatsupwithyou E/W @ 18/119.00

Course-and-distance winner Whatsupwithyou is bidding for a third win at the track in his 39th start, capable of putting in a bold bid from only a 4lb higher mark than his latest success. He beat Goodwin here in December when sent off at odds of 14/115.00 under Elliott England, who claims 7lb as opposed to 10lb in the saddle this time around.

On a workable mark for Ben Pauling, the 12-year-old veteran always warrants consideration at this venue and is usually in good form at this time of year. He chased home now 136-rated East India Express at Cheltenham last spring, outrunning odds of 25/126.00 under Ben Jones from a rating of 124, in a performance worth upgrading, and has form figures of 3422226 during March, often making the frame at this time of year, including when fourth at 33/134.00 to Galopin Des Champs in the Martin Pipe at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival!

With conditions to suit as well as the track, Whatsupwithyou is one to note and should be able to make his presence felt in this field.
