With the cold snap starting to take hold, it has to be odds against that we get a full slate of jumping cards, with Newcastle already off and Sandown having announced an inspection.
With that in mind, I'm heading to Wincanton for a pair of ITV selections in the hope that they avoid the big freeze down in Somerset.
Paul Nicholls' rangy gelding Wicked Thoughts looks sure to be popular in this 3m 1f handicap chase and he took well to fences at the first time of asking when beating Bertie Wooster by a neck at Taunton last time.
However, he was arguably fortunate that day and may well have been beaten had the runner-up taken the last a bit better.
Wicked Thoughts is made for chasing, though, and ought to get better with that under his belt, but he has to concede plenty of experience to Kelce, who shaped well when second in something of an odd race at Aintree last time.
They only jumped 10 fences that day because of the low sun, which certainly didn't play to the selection's strengths, and a more orthodox affair should see him to much better effect this time.
Neil Nulholland's eight-year-old still looks reasonably treated off a mark of 118 and he should give a good account.

The following extended 1m 7f handicap hurdle has an open look to it and the emphasis should be firmly on speed under conditions that are expected to be on the quick side for the time of year.
That should suit the ex-flat racer Premier, who got off the mark over timber when taking a novice handicap at Taunton last month.
Warren Greatrex's four-year-old was produced to lead two out and showed plenty of resolution as he held off the challenge of Appleshaw by a neck, with the duo pulling several lengths clear of the third.
The form of that race was given a boost on New Year's Day, with the sixth-place finisher Rukaana taking a similar contest at Windsor, and Premier's current mark of 108 is pretty comparable to the level he achieved on the flat.
Of the opposition, Three Pikes looks a potential improver dropped back down in trip having shaped as if 2m is really what he needs on his last few starts, though whether he's got the latent speed to get the better of Premier over this trip remains to be seen.
