Hugo Palmer has three runners in action at Newmarket on Saturday; here are the Betfair Ambassador's views on the chances of each...
13:25 - Central City
Central City ran well when third in the Lily Agnes at Chester and has been pleasing me in his work since. He's landed on what looks the stronger division of this, especially if some of the newcomers live up to their pedigrees, but should have every chance.
13:55 - Encrypted
Encrypted is a very strong, well-made colt who has been showing up nicely at home for some time. He's a well bred son of Showcasing who is an excellent sire of fast two-year-olds. There are some well-bred newcomers to take on, as well as Godolphin's Folk Tale, who is a surefire improver having finished well after a slow start at Goodwood. As always with my newcomers, Encrypted will improve for this run, but I still expect a bold bid first time up.
16:15 - Alouja
I'm very keen to win a maiden with Alouja and she's run very well on her last two starts. Andrea Atzeni rode her at Haydock where she was quite keen and recommended dropping her in trip and letting her use her stride, so that's the plan, and this looks a weaker race than those she's been contesting. The weather in Newmarket is drying at present and I hope it continues in that vein, as I wouldn't want her running on rain-softened ground.
