A Wolverhampton NAP and Next Best from Timeform
Wolverhampton Nap - 20:30 - Back Master of Combat
Master of Combat was well backed on his return to the all-weather over the extended mile here three weeks ago and he justified that support with a decisive success, scoring by a length and a half despite conceding first run.
That contest was run at just a steady gallop and Master of Combat still had a fair bit to do turning for home, but he quickened up well to lead a furlong out and was well on top at the finish.
He has gone up 4 lb for that success but is still 5 lb lower in the weights than when placed over this course and distance in January so he remains on a fair mark and will have no problem stepping back up in trip.
Wolverhampton Next Best - 19:00 - Back Intervention
Intervention found only an unexposed three-year-old who had dropped in the weights too strong at Kempton last week and he pulled five lengths clear of the remainder.
Intervention, who is able to run off the same mark as at Kempton, is 5 lb lower than his last winning mark, and while his losing run stretches back to August last year he showed at Kempton that he's in good enough form to capitalise on his reduced rating.
The cheekpieces and hood that he wore at Kempton are applied again here.
