"The runner-up has come out and franked the form since and Marmara Star makes plenty of appeal following a 6 lb rise..."
Timeform's Andrew Asquith highlights a Nap and Next Best selection at Wolverhampton on Saturday.
NAP
Marmara Star - 19:30 Wolverhampton
Marmara Star wasn't the first horse from this yard to be denied a handicap mark after her third run, but she duly made her first start in handicaps a winning one over this course and distance in January.
She was well suited by a step up in trip, ridden more positively than she had been previously and finding plenty for all she hung slightly her left in the closing stages. The runner-up has come out and franked the form since and Marmara Star makes plenty of appeal following a 6 lb rise.
Carlos Felix - 20:30 Wolverhampton
Carlos Felix hasn't quite developed into that he threatened to in his younger days, but there is no doubt he has a touch of class about him when putting it all together, as he showed when landing a sustained gamble at Southwell a couple of weeks ago.
He had tumbled in the weights but gave his rivals a head start, typically slow away from the stalls but his jockey didn't panic and he had a fair bit up his sleeve at the line. A subsequent 5 lb rise leaves him well handicapped on old form and it will be disappointing if he isn't able to follow up.
