A Wolverhampton Nap and Next Best from Timeform
Wolverhampton Nap - 20:30 - Back Dembe
Dembe hasn't won for nearly two years, but he shaped much better than the bare result when finishing third over this course and distance 11 days ago, unlucky not to have finished closer and arguably even have won.
He went with plenty of zest, clearly all the better for his recent reappearance, and he was moving well into contention when badly hampered over a furlong out.
He was switched soon after and stayed on well under a hands-and-heels ride, still having running left at the line. Dembe remains on the same mark, which is 7 lb below his last winning one, and has excellent claims of getting his head back in front provided a clearer passage.
Wolverhampton Next Best - 19:00 - Back Enzos Angel
Enzos Angel was a modest maiden for his previous yard, but he produced a career-best effort on first start for Neil Mulholland when winning a handicap over an extended nine furlongs at this course last week.
He took advantage of a career-low mark that day, leading over two furlongs out and easily moving clear in the closing stages. He is a big, strong type who has relatively few miles on the clock, so he has the potential to progress further still, and looks a big player turned out under a penalty now moving up in trip.
