Sammi Moosa doesn't have the most appealing strike rate, but she was well supported at Turffontein last time and found only one rival too good. Her three career wins have come at this venue, including one over this trip, so she gets the vote ahead of The Sash, who could have a say in proceedings now stepped back in trip. Plum Field gets the vote for third.

#11 Madame Patrice - Vaal R8 (14:35)

Madame Patrice produced a career-best performance to land the odds in a Turffontein handicap recently, and a repeat of that effort will see her difficult to beat. Sheer Talent arrives here on the back of a hat-trick and is the clear danger, while Eskimo Kissed may also have a say in proceedings.

#9 Phillydelphia - Vaal R9 (15:10)

Phillydelphia has been in good form since the resumption of racing, finishing second here on her return to action before going one better at Turffontein two starts back. She was a little below form back over this course and distance last time but is worth another chance at the forecast prices. Allez Les Bleu is not taken lightly however, while Persica is a three-time course-and-distance winner and also merits respect.
