#1 Blue Spark - Vaal R4 (12:10 GMT)

Blue Spark has had plenty of chances to open his account and has hit the frame in eight of his 11 career starts. It is hard to argue with his consistency, while his form is the best on offer in this field, so he looks the safest option in a race that shouldn't take much winning. Nussply is of a similar ilk and can also play a significant role.

#6 Bold Ransom - Vaal R7 (14:05 GMT)

Probably the best race on the card and Bold Ransom is strongly fancied to come out on top. He won three times last year and went incredibly close to making it four when beaten a head in second over this trip at Turffontein last time. That was in a Grade 3 event and he comes out well at the weights here, so he is expected to record a third course success. Eden Roc also comes into the reckoning.

#1 Emerald Crest - Vaal R9 (15:10 GMT)

Emerald Crest opened her account in a maiden over this trip at Turffontein in September and ran her best race to date when a good three-quarter length second to Samoa in a handicap over course and distance last time. Emerald Crest is less exposed than that rival and meets her on better terms now, so is fancied to reverse the form. Olivia S is another to consider.
