At Newmarket, Kuda Huraa looks the one to be on in a well-contested mile-and-a-quarter handicap (14:40). The son of Montjeu scored in a Wolverhampton maiden on his seasonal return and proved even better when comfortably landing an apprentice event last week. The very capable Darren Egan was aboard that day, and is able to claim his five pounds here. Kuda Huraa has excellent claims as he goes unpenalised for that success and a repeat of that form will make him hard to beat.

Trade Commissioner has looked like a Group horse masquerading as a handicapper, and he is taken to continue his progress, and earn his first pattern prize in the Group 3 Sovereign Stakes at Salisbury (15:55). He made a strong impression and marked himself down as a big improver when taking a handicap here over a mile in June, and duly followed up in a more competitive event at Sandown last month. John Gosden's four-year-old can take this on his way to even better things.

Back at Newmarket, and Suegioo (17:25) wasn't unfancied when finding only a couple of useful sorts too good in a maiden here last time. The winner, Stencive, was narrowly beaten off a BHA mark of 88 last week and an initial mark of 81 for Suegioo's handicap bow looks fair. Marco Botti's three-year-old is open to improvement now tackling this sphere and can land the finale and racing's HQ.
