#2 Bitter Wind - Vaal R4 (12:45 BST)

Bitter Wind has the best form in the book having posted a good third at Turffontein in August. Admittedly, she has been below that level on her last couple of starts, but the step up in trip here is fancied to see her bounce back. She can get off the mark at the expense of Pin Up and Purple Shadow.

#4 Snow Palace - Vaal R7 (14:30 BST)

Snow Palace was fourth in a Grade 2 at Greyville last time and looks to hold obvious claims if running to the same sort of level in these calmer waters. Western Fort has been running consistently of late and could be the one to give the selection most to think about, leaving Sell High to complete the shortlist.

#8 Land of Rubies - Vaal R8 (15:05 BST)

Land of Rubies produced her best effort for a while when second at Turffontein last time, keeping on well to be beaten just a length and three quarters. She can race from the same mark here and looks sure to give another good account. Rabia The Rebel and Consol Queen are feared most.
