"Trainer Christophe Clement has had a fantastic year, and this beautifully bred individual should be ready to do herself justice"
Nick Shiambouros heads to Tampa Bay Downs with two selections from the Wednesday card...
Foreman to graduate
Race 1 17:42 Tampa Bay Downs - Foreman
Foreman should make his presence felt in this $25k maiden claimer on the main track.
This gelding finished a distant fifth to Witsel in a Maiden Special Weight over this course earlier this month. He ducked out at the start and lost a great deal of ground in the process. He recovered to chase the leaders in the straight, but had no chance of delivering a challenge. In the circumstances this was not a bad effort, and is entitled to show improved form on his second start. Trainer Gerald Bennett has had a great start to the meeting with a 26% strike rate. Anything around his Morning Line price of 4.57/2 will do.
Ravir ready on debut
Race 5 19:48 Tampa Bay Downs - Ravir
I am going to take a chance with debutant Ravir in this interesting Maiden Special Weight on the turf.
This daughter of Uncle Mo was sold for $300k at the Keeneland September sales last year. She is out of the Dam Rejoicing, and is a half-sister to the talented Divine Oath who was a dual Grade 3 winner for Graham Motion. She is also a full- sister to Grade 3 placed Auntie Joy. Trainer Christophe Clement has had a fantastic year, and this beautifully bred individual should be ready to do herself justice. Leading jockey Samy Camacho has the riding assignment. BSP is recommended.
