Southwell Nap - 15:20 - Back Lord North

Lord North is a four-time Group 1 winner who sets a healthy standard on form in this year's Winter Derby.

He finished runner-up in the race in 2022 and was an impressive winner last year when the race was run over a mile and a quarter at Lingfield.

This is over a furlong further and at a more galloping track, but that shouldn't pose too many problems to him, and he is expected to make another winning return to set him up for the Dubai Turf at Meydan next month, which he is bidding to win for the fourth successive year.

Southwell Next Best - 16:30 - Back Barenboim

Barenboim was prolific on the all-weather around this time last year, but he hasn't been at his best since returning from a break in November.

However, his mark has fallen as a result, and he left the impression that he is ready to strike when a close third over two miles at Lingfield earlier this month.
