Saturday horse racing tips and insight
If Kalpana is fully tuned up for this comeback run she should be up to defying her Group 1 penalty. West Wind Blows is almost certainly flattered by his proximity to Calandagan in Dubai but this could be another race he can control from the front and he's second choice.

It's Lockinge Day at Newbury on Saturday and the card is packed full of quality from start to finish and the first race that catches my interest from a punting perspective is this 1m 2f fillies' listed contest.
I was somewhat surprised to see Golden Orbit as short as 13/82.63 on the Sportsbook, but she's clearly held in high regard and made an eye-catching debut when beating a subsequent winner on her sole start at Newmarket back in September. While clearly open to bundles of improvement with just that one outing under her belt, she looks short enough for what she's actually achieved and I'm happy to take her on with Sacred Ground.
John & Thady Gosden's filly was a winner herself on debut at Yarmouth last year and then ran well to be second at this level on her own other start.
She then wasn't seen to best effect from the rear in the Pretty Polly at Newmarket on her comeback, sticking on to finish second again having been set plenty to do, and that performance can be marked up.
I expect her to be ridden more prominently this time and Sacred Ground remains with plenty of potential.

The Lockinge Stakes has brought together an exciting bunch of horses with the likes of More Thunder and Damysus striving to establish themselves as true milers by lifting this prestigious Group 1 event.
It may pay to think a little outside the box and the presence of a Ballydoyle pacemaker in Mississipi River who lines up to ensure a strong gallop for Lion In Winter could also benefit a habitual slow starter in More Thunder who returns to a trip in excess of seven furlongs for the first time since joining William Haggas.
The Night Of Thunder entire hit the line hard when capturing last season's Hungerford Stakes, indeed his finishing speed percentage was rated the best on both of his UK starts at seven furlongs last term.
Those with long memories will remember how well More Thunder ran from the worst possible draw in the Qatar Prix de la Foret last October, again finishing off strongly to suggest a return to further would be no issue.
He has the opportunity to vindicate that view here and the only negative to his chance is his annoying trait of blowing the start, a failing which cost him the Wokingham Stakes last summer.

I was fortunate enough to be at Ballydoyle earlier this week to speak to Aidan O'Brien about his Derby hopes and contenders for next month's blue riband event, but even with an abundance of equine talent on show, one horse stood out looks wise; Albert Einstein.
At the moment, punters have a choice to make with regard to the selection.
Buy into the hype and his trainer's faith or ignore the platitudes and concentrate on racecourse appearances in making an informed judgement about the son of Wootton Bassett.
In all honesty, until his more encouraging performance in the Greenham Stakes where the first time hood appeared to pacify Albert Einstein too much, I was happy to let him run unbacked in just about any race.
That might indeed be the case again after this Listed event, but O'Brien has left off the hood and returned his highly regarded colt to sprinting and 3/14.00 seems a very fair price for a horse which is being dropped in class and distance.

I am very keen on the London Gold Cup selection Al Azd in a hot-looking three-year-old handicap. The gelded son of Dubawi was very impressive last time winning at Doncaster when upped in trip and put some fair rivals to the sword.
He was ridden like a good horse at Town Moor - last but one with three furlongs to go, he moved up the centre and was different class to score by nearly 4L.
A new mark has kicked in and up to 92 from 85, but he's progressive and considering Doncaster was a steady pace off a finishing speed of 105%, he should have little trouble back down to 1m2f and seems to be better going left-handed with a long finish.
He had previously made the running at Southwell over 1m3f to win a Maiden by a big margin with a field well strung out, and on that evidence, the blinkers had really made a difference and he retains them here with two wins from three since the headgear has been applied.
With ground likely to be on the firmer side, it will very much suit as he bombed out on his first two runs on soft, but Timeform rated it good to firm at Donny last time.

Purosangue was luckless at Pontefract when last seen, but could take a step forward for his yard debut and first outing of the season, making appeal from a 1lb lower mark for Robert Cowell.
The five-year-old, who was formerly trained by Andrew Balding, is on a workable mark of 96 if at his best, 2lb lower than when finishing fourth as favourite in the Ayr Gold Cup last season. He has been able to be competitive from a higher rating in the past and also brings Stakes level form into this contest, putting him in with a solid each-way chance on the back of a promising reappearance.

Four-year-old gelding Green Triangle had shown potential for Joseph O'Brien earlier in his career, winning twice for his former before changing hands for 85,000gns, joining the Simon and Ed Crisford team. He did take some time to get going for his current connections but caught the eye on Meydan debut in December, and put in an excellent effort when fourth to Arabian Light in his subsequent run.
Things didn't pan out favourably for him during his time in Dubai, but he could be worth keeping the faith and is well-treated at the weights if at his best on his British return. He remains open to further improvement and is more than capable of posing a threat from a rating of 88 under Saffie Osborne.
With five places available in this competitive handicap, Green Triangle warrants consideration and shouldn't be discounted as he drops back in trip.
