Newcastle 15:47: Back Second Fiddle @ 4/15.00

At the time of writing Warwick was in the balance so my treble zones in on Newcastle's All-Weather fixture and Second Fiddle can hopefully get us up-and-running at a good price.

Iain Jardine's mare has a fabulous strike-rate on the artificials and is already five from seven and her spree started when joining the Scottish yard with a win in September at Hamilton from 46 - it's fair to say she was a good thing that day as she's now rated 70.

She'll need a peak best performance here but she won with a lot in hand over CD last time in a perfect pace set up. The early speed was fast and Mohammed Tabti get the mare into the near-side stands' pack crucially, and her final furlong was around 0.60 seconds faster than the third.

Tabti knows her well and is 2-8 from at Newcastle, helped by one of the mare's wins last time, and I think she is still improving.

Newcastle 17:50: Back Goldmoyne @ 2/13.00

Trainer James Owen's horses are rarely missed in the market but Goldmoyne is going great guns at the moment with back-to-back wins and should make it three at a price of 2/13.00.

Both victories have been over CD, with cheekpieces applied. These factors have helped him find his groove, likewise the drop to 6f and the switch to the All-Weather.

Indeed, his sire Galileo Gold has a fine record at Newcastle with his sons and daughters, with a 16-90 win rate at 18% and placed at 35% (31 placed from the 90).

Two wins from Goldmoyne have both got sectional upgrades of an A+ from the ATR website and considering he defied an 11lb rise last time, again looks the likeliest scorer.

Newcastle 18:20: Back Sound And Vision @ 1/12.00

Fans of David Bowie will be on high alert with Sound And Vision, but also fans of the sire Starman who enjoyed a tremendous 2025 and was very much a breakthrough stallion.

It's worth tapping into the sire's exceptional record at Newcastle, with six winner from 15 runners here at a massive 40% and also holds a 40% placed record from all runners across all of the artificial tracks.

Sound And Vision won fairly easily last time against a game second Von Trotter, but the jockey Kieran Shoemark that day was never hard at work and there was a big gap to the third and on the visual effort I see Newcastle's 5f suiting as she was strong at the end and a mark of 70 looks very lenient indeed.

Ed Walker, her trainer, heads into Saturday with three winners from his last 13 runners, with three runner-up spots to boot and this filly looks well ahead of her mark for a handicap debut and Billy Loughnane replaces Shoemark.
