Hoffenheim should go close in this $12.5k claimer on the main track.

This Midnight Lute gelding finished down the field in a $25k claimer at Belmont Park last month. He weakened quickly at the entrance to the straight, and finished well beaten. In truth this was a disappointing effort, but this race represents a big class drop. Last year he finished fourth in a pair of Graded Stakes races. He is not the force of old, but should be able to dispose of this field if he puts his best foot forward. Anything around his Morning Line of 2.47/5 will do.

Tobys Heart the big improver

Tobys Heart should prove difficult to beat in this Stakes race on the turf course.

This filly was most impressive on debut when winning a Maiden Special Weight on the turf at Churchill Downs in June. She missed the break, but recovered to put in a strong run in the straight and won going away. This was a super effort from her, and clearly has a lot more to offer. The water is much deeper today, but feel she is up to the task. She looks like the big improver, and should be backed at around 3.02/1 on the exchange.
