"This was a monster effort from this talented filly, and fully expect her to move forward again"
Nick Shiambouros struck again yesterday when the heavily backed Kingmeister won at Saratoga. Nick hopes to end another profitable week with two winners from the Spa...
Mean Mary to blow rivals away
Race 8 22:18 Saratoga - Mean Mary
Mean Mary is taken to win her first Grade 1 in this historic race on the turf.
This lightly raced four-year-old was most impressive when winning the Grade 2 New York New York at Belmont Park in June. She made all the running, and skipped clear in the straight to win unchallenged. This was a monster effort from this talented filly, and fully expect her to move forward again. This is her toughest assignment to date, with the likes of two time defending champion Sistercharlie and Grade 1 winner Starship Jubilee in the field. She should be a decent price so recommend backing her at BSP.
Aintitfunkynow to skip home
Race 9 22:51 Saratoga - Aintitfunkynow
I am going to give Aintitfunkynow another chance in this $40k State bred maiden claimer on the turf.
This gelding was a no show against similar over this course last month. He refused to settle, and clipped heels in the early stages. As a result, he lost a great deal of ground and was allowed to coast home when all chance had gone. He had previously run well in a couple of Maiden Special Weight races, and a reproduction of his best effort would see him go close. I recommend backing him at BSP.
