Nick Shiambouros was on the mark yesterday when both his selections won including his best bet Isabellaalexa at 5.01 BSP. Nick heads to Saratoga with two more fancies...
"He could not have been more impressive on his first start of the year when thrashing a decent field in an allowance race at Keenland"
Back Maven Race 7 at 3.55/2 in the 21:12 at Saratoga
Maven the one
Race 7 21:12 Saratoga - Maven
Maven should make his presence felt in this fascinating Stakes race on the turf.
This well-travelled colt won a Group 3 at Chantilly last year, before finishing down the field in the Molecomb at Goodwood. He did not appear to handle the unique undulations of the Sussex course, and this run is best forgotten. He could not have been more impressive on his first start of the year when thrashing a decent field in an allowance race at Keenland. After making all the running, he was allowed to coast home inside the final furlong to win effortlessly. I do not think we have seen the best of him and should be backed at his Morning Line price of 3.55/2.
Sweet Bye and Bye to wave goodbye
Race 8 21:46 Saratoga - Sweet Bye and Bye
Sweet Bye and Bye should go close in this $80k optional claimer on the inner turf course.
This Sky Mesa mare finished a close third in a Stakes race on the turf earlier this month. She put in a strong run inside the final furlong and was gaining on the winner close home. The return to the mile distance will suit her down to the ground and am expecting a much-improved effort. This is a tough race, but she does have a touch of class. She has been working well and put in a bullet work over the turf course five days ago. I recommend backing her at BSP.
