"She had previously won a Maiden Special Weight at Churchill Downs by double digits and looked special"
Nick Shiambouros returns to Saratoga for the penultimate day of the meeting with two selections...
Sweet on Chocolate Cookie
Race 7 21:03 Saratoga - Chocolate Cookie
Chocolate Cookie is my idea of the winner of this interesting State bred Maiden Special Weight on the turf course.
This filly had no luck at all on debut when finishing seventh against similar last month. She met interference at the start, and again on the home turn before fading out of contention. She was heavily backed and is highly regarded at home. She comes from a good family and represents high profile connections. Her work tab is solid, and trainer Todd Pletcher is currently leading the race for top trainer at the meeting with 27 winners. I think she is open to significant improvement and recommend backing her at BSP.
Beautiful Memories to erase nightmare
Race 9 22:11 Saratoga - Beautiful Memories
Beautiful Memories should go close in this mouthwatering Grade 1.
This filly was pulled up on her latest start in a Grade 3 over this course in July. She stumbled at the start and jockey Jose Ortiz decided to call it a day before the home turn.
In truth she was beaten soon after the start and clearly something was amiss. She had previously won a Maiden Special Weight at Churchill Downs by double digits and looked special. She has been working brilliantly ahead of this assignment and I expect her to run a big race. I recommend backing her at BSP.
