Silver Excess looks like the horse to beat in this $5k restricted claimer on the main track.

This mare finished sixth to Caramel Cream in a $12.5 claimer over this course earlier this month. She raced wide for the whole journey and paid the price in the home straight. This was a disappointing effort as she won at the $25k level in February. Trainer Juan Vasquez drops her to the bottom level, and should be rewarded with a win, despite running poorly the last twice. Anything around her Morning Line price of 4.03/1 will do.

Final Shot should make his presence felt in this $35k optional claimer on the main track.

This gelding finished an excellent third in a Stakes race at Monmouth Park earlier this month. Despite racing wide, he put in a strong run inside the final furlong and was not beaten all that far. This was his best performance of the year and comes in to this race in cracking form. Trainer Guadalupe Preciado boasts an impressive 22% strike rate, and it is nice to see Angel Castillo ride back for connections. This is a competitive race so recommend backing him at BSP.
