Bounce The Blues - 13:50 Newmarket
Bounce The Blues made rapid progression for John Feane in Ireland, showing improved form to get off the mark in a warm maiden, beating home subsequent listed winner So Wonderful, before she herself made the breakthrough at listed level at Naas last month, coping fine with the step up in grade as she stayed on to lead well inside the final furlong, winning cosily. She made a promising start for Andrew Balding's yard when third in the Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster recently, finishing with plenty of running left, and she is a confident selection to quickly bounce back to winning ways now dropped back in class.
Katara - 14:25 Newmarket
Katara has made pleasing progress for Sir Michael Stoute this season, confirming the promise of her reappearance when a wide-margin winner at Kempton in July, impressing with the manner of the success, and then following that up with a most imposing performance at listed level last time, relishing the longer trip as she won with ease on the July course here. The impression she has created, particularly in her latest victory, suggests she isn't done improving yet, and she looks well worth her place in this company.
Benbatl - 15:35 Newmarket
The fact that Benbatl hasn't been seen on the racecourse since February should not pose much of a problem, particularly considering he overcame a longer absence to win this race last year, producing a most impressive performance, tanking along at the head of affairs, winding things up from three furlongs out and drawing clear for a hands-and-heels ride. He has enjoyed plenty of success abroad this season, winning two Group 2s at Meydan before finishing third in the valuable Saudi Cup, and he looks the clear one to beat if returning in anywhere near that sort of form.
