Monday's Most Backed: Odds on market mover at Wexford

Wexford
Will Betfair punters start the week off with a winner?

Today's most backed horse is now a shades of odds on, as Betfair punters eye up their NAP of the day over at Wexford.

  • First run back after almost two years
  • Second to subsequent Grade 3-winning hurdler

Today's most backed horse on the Betfair Sportsbook is Good Land in the 16:25 Wexford. Having opened at 11/4, Barry Connell's horse is now just 10/11 to be first past the post this afternoon.

Good Land has only run once, and that was back in November 2020, where the now six-year-old finished second in a bumper at Fairyhouse.

However, what was eyecatching about that performance was who Good Land came second to.

The winner was a Gordon Elliott trained Grade 3 winning hurdler and having been close in the betting to the winner at Fairyhouse, Good Land may just have the ability to strike at Wexford today.

Having been off the track for almost two years, it's clear Good Land has clearly had some issues to deal with, but the form of his trainer at present is what Betfair punters have faith in.

Barry Connell had a winner in a bumper at Limerick in October, which hopefully bodes well for his sole runner today.

Gordon Elliott does have his own runner in the race, and Landrake 3.02/1 is Good Land's main market rival.

Having finished third at Leopardstown in a bumper, before finishing second at Navan in February, Landrake was then pulled up at Downpatrick when last seen in March.

The fact that run raises concerns, it's easy to see why Betfair punters are sticking with Connell's runner and the market has well and truly spoke this morning.
