Obsidian Knight again shaped well when filling the runner-up spot at Wolverhampton two weeks ago, passing the post just a neck behind the winner and arguably deserving extra credit having been caught further back than ideal in a steadily-run race.

That appeals as solid form - the winner is an improving three-year-old who was winning her fifth race in a row - and Obsidian Knight is only 1 lb higher in the weights today.

The booking of champion jockey William Buick also catches the eye and it looks an ideal opportunity for Obsidian Knight to resume winning ways if getting a stronger gallop to aim at.

Admirable Lad - 13:50 Lingfield

Admirable Lad came up short when trying to complete a four-timer at Chelmsford earlier this month, but he probably ran at least as well in defeat as when winning at Wolverhampton the time before.

Settled in mid-division in the early stages, he was produced to lead early in the straight and kept going well from there to be beaten less than two lengths, doing so despite being bumped by the winner in the final furlong.

Crucially, Admirable Lad is down slightly in grade today from an unchanged mark, so another bold bid seems assured as he seeks his fourth win from his last five starts.

Amor De Mi Vida took advantage of her much-reduced mark with a determined victory at Wolverhampton 12 days ago, digging deep under pressure to land the spoils by a length.

This will be tougher following a 4 lb rise in the weights, but she remains potentially well treated judged on the pick of her form. For context, Amor De Mi Vida lines up here from a BHA mark of 67 having won off 72 as recently as July.
