Elzaam Blue produced a career-best effort to get his head back in front over this course and distance 12 days ago, only winning by a short head but looking value for extra having been caught further back than ideal. The most impressive aspect of his performance was how much ground he made up in the final furlong alone, recording a notably fast closing sectional.

This will be tougher following a 6 lb rise in the weights, but Elzaam Blue has made a good start for the Jamie Osborne yard and another big run seems assured as he seeks a fourth victory of 2023.

Kempton Next Best - 18:00 - Back Summer of Love

Summer of Love shaped better than the bare result when finishing fourth on her debut at this course last month, carrying plenty of condition beforehand and duly shaping as if in need of the run. After travelling smoothly in a prominent position, she tired quickly in the final furlong, ultimately passing the post nearly 10 lengths behind the winner.

A well-bred filly (by Dark Angel and out of a smart winner at around a mile and a quarter), Summer of Love seems sure to make above-average improvement with the outing under her and this maiden looks a good opportunity for her to get off the mark for Saeed bin Suroor, who has an excellent 25% strike rate at Kempton since the start of the 2019 season.
