"...will improve again and is an exciting prospect for Owen Burrows's yard."

Timeform on Minzaal

13:45 - ZABEEL CHAMPION (11) won twice at Newmarket, once on the Rowley course and once on the July course, before producing a career-best effort to finish second at Goodwood last time, shaping well on a track that clearly wasn't ideal for him. He looks ready and able for the step up to a mile and a half and is open to further improvement, so is certainly one to have on side.

14:15 - The 2019 Gordon Stakes winner, NAYEF ROAD (3) has returned an even more improved model this season, winning the Sagaro Stakes on his reappearance prior to a brace of runner-up finishes to Stradivarius at Ascot and Goodwood, getting within a length of John Gosden's top-class stayer on the latter occasion. Those efforts read well here and he is the one to beat dropping back to Group 2 company.

14:45 - MINZAAL (4) made a promising debut at Ascot last month, finishing fourth but likely to have done even better had he got the run the winner did, and he confirmed the promise of that effort as he opened his account with the utmost ease at Salisbury last time, the time and sectionals pointing towards that being a useful effort with the prospect of plenty more to come. He will improve again and is an exciting prospect for Owen Burrows's yard.

15:15 - BATTAASH (1) lowered Dayjur's long-standing track record when winning this race in scintillating fashion last year, and he has shown he certainly retains all his ability with his easy wins in the King's Stand at Royal Ascot and the King George at Goodwood this term. Art Power is a fast improving sprinter who could give Battaash more to think about that he has had to in his two outings so far this season, but he still has plenty to find with the best sprinter in training, and it is impossible to oppose Charlie Hills's charge.

15:45 - Bred to be useful - by Dubawi out of a useful French winner - NAVAL CROWD (6) produced a promising first effort after coming in for plenty of market support, knowing his job as he finished third at Newmarket, and he ran at least as well when again third in a listed contest at Ascot last time. That race is already starting to work out well and Naval Crown holds definite claims now he's had his sights lowered.

16:20 - WALIYAK (5) didn't need to improve to get off the mark on her final appearance of last season, but the manner in which she won hinted at the potential for further progression, and that has certainly been the case, showing improved form to finish runner-up in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot (coming from the opposite wings and perhaps not seen to best advantage) and a Goodwood handicap (not getting the run Chamade did) this season. She will certainly stay this trip, remains open to further improvement and is sure to be winning a handicap before too long, particularly as she is 5 lb better off with the re-opposing Chamade this time around.

16:50 - FINEST SOUND (4) proved a different proposition when opening his account on his reappearance at Haydock in June, quickly drawing clear well inside the final furlong for a most impressive victory, and he has hardly been disgraced in his two runs since, hitting the frame in the Britannia at Royal Ascot and more recently at Newmarket. He left the impression, on the latter occasion in particular, that he is still ahead of his mark, and with the recent rain an added bonus for him, another bold show is anticipated.
