This looks a good renewal of this listed event for juveniles, and Bahrain Pride makes plenty of appeal following his impressive debut win at Windsor earlier this month. His sales price more than doubled to 300,000 guineas at the Breeze-Ups earlier this year, and he caught the eye when getting the better of a well-backed newcomer, always travelling well and scything through the pack to challenge a furlong from home before asserting in the closing stages. Bahrain Pride looks potentially smart and is expected to take this step up in class in his stride.

Abbotside - 16:05 Ripon

Abbotside sets the standard on form here, and ran at least as well as ever when narrowly denied on his first try at this trip at Haydock last time. However, he has had plenty of opportunities to open his account, so is therefore worth opposing at the likely prices. The less-exposed pair of Spirit Dancer and Kaleidoscopic look better options.

Arij is a lightly-raced maiden who showed his best form when finishing third at Haydock on handicap debut last time, and he should find that experience aiding his development. He didn't help his cause in the early stages, either, fighting his rider and doing too much too soon, but was surprisingly strong in the finish, the only one to make any inroads on the prominent racers. He goes in a first-time visor now and should be bang in the mix racing from the same mark.
