Ajyaall showed useful form when last seen defying a penalty in a novice event at Wolverhampton in October, clocking a good time and quite comfortably on top at the line. He didn't look the finished article at times last season, but a gelding operation over the winter will hopefully enable him to focus even more intently and progress into a smart performer at around a mile this season. A BHA mark of 90 really shouldn't be insurmountable and he has the potential to go on to bigger and better things for his powerful connections.

Believe In Love - 14:40 York

Believe In Love achieved a smart level of form as a three-year-old, winning five times and recording her biggest success yet when last seen landing a Group 3 at Saint-Cloud in October. She must carry a 3 lb penalty for that win but still sets the standard here on Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings, representing the Roger Varian yard which continues in good heart (77% of horses running to form). Believe In Love is proven on rain-softened ground and has gone well fresh in the past, too, so she looks to have plenty in her favour.

Yorkshire Lady - 16:55 York

Yorkshire Lady took a big step forward to resume winning ways at Ripon two weeks ago, proving well suited by the return to a mile. Held up in the early stages, she was forced to switch entering the final furlong but found plenty once in the clear, staying on strongly to land the spoils by a length and a half with a bit in hand. She remains with potential and is fancied to defy a 7 lb higher mark to follow up under Joanna Mason, who is proving good value for her claim.
