Timeform on Cadillac
Make A Challenge - 15:10 Curragh
Make A Challenge has confirmed himself a very smart sprinter this season, notably winning a listed race at Naas in June and a minor event at this venue in July. That form sets the standard here on Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings, getting 4 lb from Speak In Colours, and he is a confident selection as he attempts to add to his eight career wins for the Denis Hogan yard, four of which have come at the Curragh. Southern Horse could also hit the frame on just his second outing for Jessica Harrington in a race where most of the others are out of their depth.
Haparanda - 16:15 Curragh
Haparanda took a big step forward in first-time cheekpieces when making a successful handicap bow at Killarney last month, relishing the longer trip as she stayed on strongly to land the spoils by two and a half lengths. Well on top at the line, she should have even more to offer as her stamina is drawn out further, so a 14 lb hike in the weights is unlikely to stop her mounting a bold follow-up bid for the in-form Dermot Weld (six winners from his last 18 runners). Thunder Kiss, Ela Katrina and Royal Free Hotel are others who might have a say in proceedings.
Cadillac - 16:45 Curragh
Cadillac created a deep impression when making a winning debut at Leopardstown, forging clear in the final furlong to win by nine lengths. That form is working out well - the runner-up won his next start at the same venue - and Cadillac is fancied to take the step up in grade here in his stride, with the prospect of even better to come for the Harrington yard that won back-to-back renewals of this race in 2010 and 2011. Military Style and Van Gogh, who filled the first two places in the Tyros Stakes for Aidan O'Brien, head the list of dangers.
