"...a subsequent 4 lb rise looks more than fair..."
Timeform on Lake Baikal
Back
Lake Baikal - 13:45 Southwell
Lake Baikal was less exposed than the rest, but still opened his account over fences in good style at Perth last month, value for more than the three-length winning margin. He jumped well in the main on just his second start over fences (he hit the eight), a little outpaced two out but showing a good attitude and was well on top at the line. This looks a stronger race, with some other unexposed types in opposition, but a subsequent 4 lb rise looks more than fair and there is plenty to like about his chances.
Lay
Jamacho - 17:00 Southwell
Jamacho has returned to this sphere in top form, winning his last two starts at Stratford last month, but he has taken a hike in the weights as a result, and could prove vulnerable at the likely prices. The likes of Dream Machine and Glendum, who has fallen to an attractive mark, could prove better options.
Smart Stat
Voodoo Whodoo - 13:10 Ayr
£46.50 - Adrian Nicholls's profit to a £1 level stake when having one runner at a Flat meeting
Voodoo Whodoo showed clear signs of ability in minor events, and was well found in the market on nursery debut at Wolverhampton earlier this month. Admittedly, she failed to beat a rival home on that occasion, but that run was too bad to be true, and she is well worth another chance now sporting first-time cheekpieces.
