Kawaalees - 15:25 Haydock
Significantly sets the standard on form, but is looking pretty exposed now, and the Owen Burrows-trained Kawaalees is fancied to improve past him. He showed the benefit of his initial experience when narrowly denied at Leicester last time, showing much improved form. He didn't have the best start, either, suffering interference, and the way he rallied once being headed in the final furlong suggests there should be even more to come.
Riffaa Wonder - 16:00 Haydock
Riffaa Wonder was an expensive purchase at the breeze-ups earlier this year and is firmly on the progressive path now. He has improved with each start so far, and proved his opening mark all wrong when bolting up in a nursery at Chester last time, left in front at around halfway and showing a smart turn of foot to quicken away from his rivals early in the straight. A subsequent 9 lb rise in the weights if fully justified and Riffaa Wonder is expected to complete a hat-trick.
Imperium - 17:05 Haydock
This looks a competitive race of its type, but Imperium is a lightly-raced four-year-old that still looks ahead of his mark. He did well to make a winning reappearance at Lingfield in June over a sharp mile and a half, and will be well suited by the step back up in trip here. Imperium is an imposing type who will progress again, especially returned to a more galloping track.
