NAP: More to come from Absolute Ruler
Absolute Ruler - 18:45 Dundalk
Absolute Ruler is bred to be smart and duly made a winning debut over a mile at this course in August, scoring in the style of one who is capable of holding his own in better company, and he proved that point well when finishing third in a Group 2 at Leopardstown last time. He was arguably unlucky not to win on that occasion, too, only just failing to get up after being bumped close home. The drop in trip shouldn't pose a problem now and he looks a big player at this level.
NEXT BEST: Expect more now Common Practice handicapping
Common Practice - 18:15 Dundalk
Common Practice went with little promise on his first two starts but showed much more when hitting the frame at Listowel last time and is just the type that will progress again now entering nurseries for shrewd connections. He started at 125/1 last time, so clearly not much was expected, but he stayed on in eye-catching fashion under a hands-and-heels ride. He will stay further than this in time, but an opening mark of 77 is workable, and he is worth chancing with improvement forthcoming.
EACH WAY: Bright Idea hard to keep out of the frame
Bright Idea - 20:15 Dundalk
Bright Idea landed the odds in good style on his return in a maiden at Killarney in May and has been running well in more competitive handicaps than this since. He wasn't disgraced in first-time cheekpieces (off today) at Newcastle last time and this well-bred colt should remain competitive having dipped to a handy-looking mark.
