Kempton 13:15: Atholl Street 1pt win 15/8

Sebastopol heads the market for this three-runner novices' chase and he ran well when staying on late to finish second at Cheltenham last time. However, he jumped markedly left (at the fences that could be seen) at Exeter and jumped left at some fences at Cheltenham so I'm not convinced that he will be seen to best effect on this right-handed track.

The opposite is the case for Atholl Street who I think can improve from his seasonal and chasing debut at Fakenham now that he's going right-handed. I thought he looked uncomfortable on some of the bends that day and having travelled with enthusiasm for much of the first circuit he didn't go with the same zest on the final circuit and was left behind by Paddys Motorbike turning the final bend.

He looked a promising novice hurdler last season prior to racing far too keenly in the Dovecote and I think any concerns over his keenness today will be helped by Rockstar Ronnie being in the field as I expect they will look to repeat the tactics from his C&D win last time and look to make the running at a good pace.

It is a bit concerning how quickly Atholl Street dropped away late on at Fakenham and it may be that he wants a strongly run two miles rather than the additional two furlongs that he races over today but I'm surprised that he's currently the outsider of the three and any 13/8 or bigger appeals.
