Goodwood Tips: Joseph Tuite has three big priced runners on Friday

Goodwood
Joseph Tuite had a 50/1 winner at Lingfield this month

Trainer Joseph Tuite has produced three winners from his last ten runners, and he's hoping for more success at Goodwood on Friday. Nathan Joyes takes a closer look at their profiles...

"The four-year-old came second over course and distance three runs back, who ran well in soft conditions, showing a good turn of foot in the last half furlong. It's worth noting the front three were well clear of the rest of the field."

May has been quite the month for Joseph Tuite, who has had winners at Lingfield, Nottingham and York in the past ten days.

They've been far from short prices, as well, more noticeably Alchemystique at 51.050/1 at Lingfield with David Probert doing the steering - a man who has six winners to his name in the last 14 days.

Oisin Murphy guided Capla Dream to victory over six furlongs at Nottingham at 15.014/1, which gives reason to believe his three runners, all 11.010/1 bar, should not be overlooked at Goodwood.

Knight Rider rank outsider on debut

There's not too much to go on with Knight Rider making his debut in the 13:10. Tuite doesn't have a phenomenal record with two-year-old's on turf, with just the eight wins and 13 places from 119 runs. However, Knight Rider has a speedier pedigree than both Golden War and Masekela, who are well fancied, and so Tuite's two-year-old may outrun his rather big odds in Goodwood's opener.

Oisin Murphy booked on Gentleman Joe

In the 15:25, three-year-old Gentleman Joe appears to be up against as the rank outsider at 34.033/1, but his price may not be so big if he hadn't dwelt at the start in a Listed race at Newmarket last time out, which spurned his opportunity from the off.

He showed ability winning a Maiden at Kempton comfortably the time before that, but he's up against some classy youngsters at Goodwood, and a place would be a very solid result for his trainer.

Tigerten Tuite's best chance

Out of the trio, the market suggests Tigerten has the best chance of being Tuite's fourth winner this month in the 16:00.

The four-year-old came second over course and distance three runs back, who ran well in soft conditions, showing a good turn of foot in the last half furlong. It's worth noting the front three were well clear of the rest of the field.

Tigerten has since finished third at Kempton and Bath, before finding the step back to 1m6f on the short side when a distant fourth at Chelmsford.

Despite opening up at 21.020/1, he's not without chance to go one better, even with the step up in class, having clearly shown a liking to Goodwood's track and he is sure to relish the soft conditions once more.

It's fair to say all three of Tuite's horses are rather unfancied in the market, but having produced a couple of big winners already this month, there's every chance he can nab another "surprise" winner at Goodwood.
