Today`s Follow The Money comes from Haydock and day two of the Cambridgeshire meeting at Newmarket...
We start with the 13:40 opener at Haydock, a 1m 3f 3yo+ Handicap, where Almutamarred has been backed in from [12.0] to [7.8]. Jockey Adam J McNamara claims five and looks to cement his previous winning partnership with trainer Kevin Morgan. Winning off a career high mark last time out this four-year-old gelding seems to have found its rhythm and is taken to repeat success today.
Today's lay comes from Newmarket in the 16:50 7f Maiden Stakes, where Via Serendipity has drifted out from [2.75] to [3.1]. Having displayed signs of weakness at the finish previously, doubts have been raised, and with improved competition today it will be no coincidence to see a repeat of that disappointment.
For our each-way selection we move back to Haydock in the 17:05 1m Class 3 Handicap where Column is being backed, opening at [9.8] and now trading at [7.4]. Improving over the last two runs while avoiding spotlight from the handicapper, market confidence is signalling another step forward and ,with George Wood claiming 5lb, today could be its best chance yet.
