Likeable mare Darkdeserthighway makes appeal from a mark of 69 under 7lb claiming Reese Holohan for Michael O'Callaghan in this 1m1f handicap. She's an experienced performer having made 46 starts to date, and put in a number of creditable efforts during last month, including when only narrowly denied at Leopardstown in a 22-runner contest by Bella Colombia.

Currently on her last winning mark, the eight-year-old mare could be capable of a bold showing and may prove worth keeping onside. She has finished third in both of her previous two appearances at this venue and could make it third time lucky at Punchestown.

George Boughey-trained Zighy is one to note under Billy Loughane, who landed Group One glory aboard Comanche Brave at the Curragh on Sunday. The three-year-old filly makes her 12th start in this competitive sprint, bidding for a third win, and could give a good account of herself from a mark of 80.

The daughter of Mehmas has run consistently well this season, recording form figures of 143234. She has regularly made the frame and has plenty of course form in her favour having achieved form figures of 2324 here in the past, including when only beaten a neck by Concert in her second start last year.

Attempting to make it fifth time lucky at the track, it could be worth keeping the faith in the filly as she holds solid claims.

Three-year-old gelding Ice Cold Alex hasn't been seen to his best in recent outings but he's dropping in class from a lower mark of 63 which could allow him to show improvement.

The Ollie Pears-trained contender shaped with some promise as a juvenile last term and put in a competitive effort at Beverley earlier in the season when fourth to Alfa Duplicate at odds of 25/126.00 in a 14-runner handicap.

He's rated 11lb lower than when emerging with credit from that outing and, although he hasn't been able to build on the promising run in three subsequent appearances, he could be capable of better in this company.

The daughter of Mitole caught the eye in her subsequent run at Haydock when two-lengths behind Boston Dan, and is capable of faring better, still yet to be fully exposed as she bids to return to the winners' enclosure in familiar surroundings.

He has proven course form and a return to the all-weather could allow him to fare better than in recent Turf appearances.

Having shown form in a higher class from a higher mark previously, this could be a feasible opportunity for the experienced six-year-old who is making his 53rd start. He's on a workable rating for trainer David Evans and should put in a threatening performance in the hands of Finley Marsh, holding solid claims.
