Lucky Lorraine should make her presence felt in this maiden on the main track.

This filly caught the eye on debut when finishing second in a similar event over six furlongs. She made a strong six wide move at the entrance to the straight, and made up a lot of ground in the closing stages without troubling the judge. This was a promising debut and clearly has a lot more to offer. The extra yardage will suit her down to the ground and am expecting a much-improved effort. The gifted apprentice Alexander Crispin rides back for connections which is another positive. Anything around her Morning Line of 3.55/2 will do.

Spinster Road looks like the horse to beat in this bottom level claimer on the main track.

This gelding has faced better in the past and will benefit from the drop in trip and class. On his latest start in a $25k maiden claimer over a mile he finished a distant fourth. He had a chance on the home turn, but weakened when the chips were down. Trainer Mclean Robertson has a healthy 23% strike rate at the meeting, and has engaged the services of Alexander Crispin who has a few fancied rides. I recommend backing him at around 3.02/1 on the exchange.
