Nick Shiambouros was on the mark yesterday when his heavily backed best bet Portal Creek won at Parx. Nick returns with two selections from Delaware Park...

Amanite for Goldikova connections
Race 6 20:45 Delaware Park - Amanite
Amanite should make her presence felt in this interesting allowance race on the turf.
This well related daughter of Tapit finished an excellent second on turf debut in a valuable allowance contest at Kentucky Downs last month. She became a little unbalanced in the closing stages but kept on well enough for a place. Kentucky Downs is not the easiest course for an inexperienced horse to handle and was impressed with her effort. I think she is open to a great deal of improvement and should go close in the colours of the great Goldikova. Anything around her Morning Line price of 4.03/1 will do.
So Dialed In ready
Race 7 21:15 Delaware Park - So Dialed In
So Dialed In should open his account in this interesting Maiden Special Weight on the main track.
This gelding finished a close fourth in a similar contest over a mile at Monmouth Park earlier this month. He held a winning lead at the entrance to the straight but weakened quickly in the closing stages. He clearly failed to get home, and the shorter six-furlong distance will suit. Trainer Jonathan Portman does not run many here but has a 19% strike rate with all his runners in 2020. There is no doubting his ability and looks like the horse to beat. I recommend backing him at his Morning Line price of 3.55/2.
