Nick Shiambouros is back with two selections from Delaware Park...
"The stretch out to a mile is exactly what he needs and am expecting a much-improved effort"
Race 3 18:00 Delaware Park - Peachy Keen
Peachy Keen should go close in this interesting Maiden Special Weight on the main track.
This well related colt created a favourable impression on debut when finishing sixth in a similar race over six furlongs last month. He put in some good work in the closing stages and finished the race willingly. Jockey Carol Cedeno was not overly hard on him when all chance had gone. He fetched $325k as a yearling at Keenland and comes from a decent family. The stretch out to a mile is exactly what he needs and am expecting a much-improved effort. Cedeno rides back for high profile connections which is significant. This is a competitive race so recommend backing him at BSP.
Bootlegger the logical choice
Race 3 19:00 Delaware Park - Bootlegger
Bootlegger is my idea of the winner of this $8k non-winner of four races on the turf.
Bootlegger has a poor win to run ratio, but this represents his easiest task to date. Last time out at Monmouth Park he was narrowly defeated in a better race. He attempted to make all but was collared close home by the game winner. The front two finished well clear of the remainder. Trainer Rudy Rodriguez does not have many runners here, but is a shrewd operator who places his horses well. Anything around his Morning Line price of 9/52.8 will do.
