Sestriere - 16:40 Dundalk
Admittedly, when backing a long-standing maiden such as Sestriere, there are risks attached, but she arrives in top form and her consistency is hard to knock. She finished an excellent second at Fairyhouse last time, pulling clear of the remainder. She travelled as well as any on that occasion, so the drop back to the minimum trip isn't a concern and she ought to go close again.
Vatican City - 18:45 Dundalk
Aidan O'Brien has an excellent record in this race, and Vatican City looks a leading contender returned to the venue of his impressive maiden success. He has been highly tried this season, his best effort coming when runner-up to Siskin on his seasonal reappearance in the Irish 2000 Guineas and went on the contest the Derby at Epsom on his next start. Vatican City got back on track in the Boomerang Stakes at Leopardstown last time, and can take advantage of this further drop in grade.
Brinjal - 19:15 Dundalk
This looks competitive but there is plenty to like about Brinjal's chances. She remains unexposed and shaped better than the bare result on handicap debut at Navan last time, quickening up nicely but was short of room two furlongs out and finished with running left. Brinjal is a half-sister to several winners, notably Timepiece, so her pedigree is an ongoing recommendation, and she looks well up to winning races from this mark.
