Nick Shiambouros heads to the coast this afternoon where his two selections at Brighton have been enhanced...
"Expect him to be played late by David Egan."
Sky Dweller to scale the heights
I am going to take a chance with Sky Dweller in this maiden.
This colt put in a much improved effort when finishing fourth to Sunset Salute at Chester last month. He made his run a furlong from home, and ran on strongly close home. The tight track did him no favours, and will appreciate the return to a more conventional racecourse.
There is plenty of pace in the race which will suit his running style. Expect him to be played late by David Egan. Trainer Marco Botti is enjoying a good spell, and this improving individual can give him another winner. The 9.08/1 on the Sportsbook is more than fair.
Almadrina to repeat
Almadrina should prove difficult to beat in this interesting handicap.
This filly came good over this course a week ago when beating Finvarra. She made all the running, and was geared down inside the final furlong to win with plenty in hand. This was a super effort and further improvement is likely. She has a penalty to contend with, but I do not believe we have seen the best of her.
The George Boughey stable has cooled recently, but has a decent record with three-year-olds. At present she is trading at 2.255/4 on the Sportsbook.
