Smith to add to festival success
13:30 Haydock - Back Informateur
It was ever so pleasing to see Sue Smith land a Cheltenham winner, as the yard have been fairly quiet all season. Hopefully it's a sign of better things, starting with Informateur at Haydock on Wednesday. I note he was a drifter on the Sportsbook last night, and he was 9/2 at the time of writing.
He ran well at Newcastle last time finishing second - nabbed late on by a stronger stayer.
He's versatile regarding the ground with form on both soft and good, and he's well treated on his hurdles' rating.
That's the spirit with Fawsley
16:05 Market Rasen - Back Fawsley Spirit
Ben Pauling's Fawsley Spirit goes in for the second leg after achieving something of a personal best at Ascot last time. It was good to see him back up a win previously at Market Rasen with a fine performance in terms of bravery in deep ground.
The drying surface shouldn't be a problem as he handled quicker going at Doncaster, and while his record is only 1-12 over the hurdles, he still remains of interest following his Ascot effort.
With Luca Morgan claiming 7lb, we can expect him to make the running.
