Alan Dudman had a winner and third yesterday and he continues the search to find a successful multiple on Thursday at Lingfield...
Sergeant can get off the mark
13:00 Lingfield - Back Sergeant Tibbs
With only four in this novice, it's not the deepest race for the afternoon. However, I thought Sergeant Tibbs would be a little shorter in the betting than 15/8, and he is worth throwing into the Sportsbook Multiple.
He ran well on debut at a big price, and done exactly the same at Kempton when finishing second to the smart Highland Avenue. That race was run at a good gallop so there is no reason to doubt the form despite Tibbs' massive price that day.
Rated 85 and with experience, he has the perfect opportunity to get off the mark.
Nefud can step up for Appleby
15:35 Lingfield - Back Al Nefud @ 2.68/5
Trainer Charlie Appleby has been in superlative form with his 3yos recently, and while Al Nefud won't be part of his Classic bunch, I expect him to improve for the step up to 1m4f today.
He shaped like a stayer in a race at Newcastle last time over 1m2f as he lacked a turn of foot. And he meets Marshall Plan again following their debuts at Lingfield, although the latter now has to concede a penalty.
Appleby is operating at 53% at the moment with nine winners from his last 17 runners.
