A lot of Mark Johnston's newcomers have proved much sharper second up, and with similar improvement anticipated from Naaroos, he appeals as very much the one to beat.

William Alexander - 15:50 Beverley

William Alexander has hinted that a good performance was within his compass on his reappearance, and he eventually stepped his form up a notch or two when opening his account over this course and distance last time, suited by the way things developed but well on top come the finish. He and the reopposing Stone Mason pulled clear of the remainder, but it is William Alexander who is better off at the weights, particularly with Gavin Ashton's 7 lb claim, and another bold showing is very much expected.
