Nick Shiambouros returns to Belmont Park with two more selections from the New York track...
"Trainer Phillip Gleaves does not have a big stable but is a talented conditioner and will have him ready to do himself justice"
Back Thin White Duke Race 9 at BSP in the 22:20 at Belmont Park
Time to Boogie
Race 7 21:12 Belmont Park - Lutescoot N Boogie
Lutescoot N Boogie should open her account in this interesting Maiden Special Weight on the main track.
This Midnight Lute filly finished third in a similar event at Saratoga last month. She held every chance in the home straight but failed to get home over the seven-furlong trip, and weakened badly when the chips were down. This was a competitive race and did well to make the frame. Trainer Steve Asmussen wisely drops her in trip, and should be a different proposition today. I think she has more to offer and recommend backing her at her Morning Line price of 3.55/2.
Take the Duke
Race 9 22:20 Belmont Park - Thin White Duke
Thin White Duke should make his presence felt in this State bred Stakes race on the main track.
This gelding broke his maiden in the Funny Cide Stakes at Saratoga last month. He put in a strong run inside the final furlong, and got up close home under a perfectly timed ride by jockey Joel Rosario. This was a super effort, and further improvement is expected. Trainer Phillip Gleaves does not have a big stable but is a talented conditioner and will have him ready to do himself justice. I recommend backing him at BSP.
