Ayr Racing Tips: Timeform's three best bets for Saturday

Nahaarr
The Ayr Gold Cup is the feature race on Saturday

Timeform provide their three best bets at Ayr on Saturday...

"...he is well worth another chance from what appears to be a fair mark..."

Timeform on Nahaarr

Addeybb - 13:55 Ayr

Addeybb, a dual Group 1 winner in Australia earlier this year, must concede 7 lb all round but he looks up to the challenge. He has developed into a high-class performer and a consistent one at that, either winning or finishing runner-up on his last seven outings. He ran well when runner-up to Lord North in the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot on his latest outing, and he should give it a good shot on this drop in grade. He will relish any cut in the ground.

Nahaarr - 15:40 Ayr

Nahaarr was a disappointment in the Stewards' Cup, failing to make an impact despite being sent off the 3/1 favourite. However, that sharp, downhill six furlongs may not have played to his strengths, and it came only 13 days after he'd posted a big effort at Newbury. Nahaarr had shaped well when third in the Silver Wokingham at Royal Ascot and he built on that at Newbury, keeping on powerfully to scoot two and a quarter lengths clear in the style of a smart sprinter. Nahaarr is lightly raced for a four-year-old, particularly over six furlongs, and he is well worth another chance from what appears to be a fair mark.

Make My Day - 16:50 Ayr

Make My Day made an excellent start for Ralph Beckett when winning over a mile and a half at York in July but he was unable to justify favouritism when stepped up to two miles at the same course last month. He still ran respectably in sixth, however, in what was a much more competitive race than this, and, given how well he travelled, he might appreciate stepping back in trip by a couple of furlongs. It's still early days for this well-bred four-year-old - he's by Galileo out of a sister to Midday - so there could still be more to come.
